Colorado Springs Wedding Photographers | Wedding Tip of the Week

Wedding Tip of the Week:  Don’t make them eat cake.  Not crazy about cake yourself?  Cut a cheesecake or pie instead!  Or consider surprising your guests with an alternate dessert bar, like a ice cream sundae making bar, or my favorite… have a cotton candy bar, like in the photo below!  For even more ideas, check out this article: 5 Wedding Cake Alternatives

DIY Shotgun Shell Boutonniere

Here is a budget friendly wedding idea for a country barn wedding or a rustic themed wedding.  It doesn’t get more country than this, a hand made shotgun shell boutonniere.  I especially like the cotton, what great texture!  It also looks great next to a bolo tie!

Colorado Springs Wedding Photographers | Wedding Tip of the Week

Wedding Tip of the Week: Preparing for an outdoor ceremony in Colorado can be a lot of work.  In the summer there is almost always chance of wind and afternoon showers in the mountains.  To prevent wardrobe malfunctions attach tiny weights to the bridesmaids’ hems to keep their dresses from flying up on a windy day.  You can also use veil weights to keep your headpiece from flying away.

Wedding Tip of the Year

Choose what aspect of your wedding day is most important to you.  If it is having an amazing honeymoon in Australia, first consider what month is best to travel there before booking your wedding date. If it is having an amazing photos that help remind you every day of the very beginning of your journey together as husband and wife, first imagine your perfect day and a photo of it hanging on your wall – what would that photo look like? Was it summer or fall in the mountains or the city? Would you be kissing by a old wagon in the mountains or perhaps walking together through Garden of the Gods?
