Rocky Mountain Estes Park Elopement in Winter

Hoping this is our last snow storm for the season; although I can’t complain, I do love snow!!

Spring is my favorite season, for the skiing of course.  Love that powder!  You may not be aware, but March is actually the snowiest month of the year, followed by April.  So, if you want to have a snowy wedding you should plan for no later in the year than Mother’s Day.  Where I live in Woodland Park, Colorado we get our last big dump of the year on Mother’s Day weekend, almost like clockwork.

Here is looking back to one of my favorite snowy ‘spring time’ wedding pictures I made by in Rocky Mountain National Park last month, although it may look like a winter portrait at first, just notice how warm this couple looks, she didn’t even need her cape for these photographs.  Gotta love spring time in the rockies!

Rocky Mountain Winter Wedding

Conveniently located only an hour and a half from Denver, Estes Park Colorado is a great locations for a destination weddings.  Located on the edge of town is Rocky Mountain National Park, a great location for intimate and adventurous weddings year round.   It’s numerous lakes make for great elopement locations.  I have been visiting the park since I was a kid.  Besides the countless hours I have spent exploring the park, my friend Angela Hays also used to be a back-country ranger there, so I have all the insider’s tips!

Here is one of my favorite snowy elopement pictures I made by Bear Lake this winter….
